StormGod Tournament (Heavy) :

1st Round: Starts with a Grand Melee, then an Atlantean speed tournament to follow.
Points - 1 per win in both the Grand Melee and the Speed Tournament for all fights.
Fighters will need to report wins and losses to the lists.
No weapon restrictions.

War Scenarios 1
All war scenarios will be Capture the Treasure style battles.
There will be a number of movable objects on the war field that will represent treasure.
The treasure may change hands many times during the battle, but war bands will only receive victory points for the treasure that they control at the end of the scenario

2nd Round.  30 minute, 3 Ring Holmgang.
Fights to take place in marked rings, stepping on the edge means you have stepped out.
If you lose, you go down to the next lowest ring.
This format can lead to some close contact, while some pressure on your opponent is inevitable, the goal is to sword fight, not push your way to victory.
No weapon restrictions.
Points - 1 per win in the highest ring

War Scenarios 2
3rd Round. 30 minutes, Matched weapons at the barrier, 2-3 barriers.
Combatants can decide which weapons they wish to use, the default is single sword with free hand on the barrier if no other options are available.
Points: 1 per win at the highest barrier

War scenarios 3
Final 8 based on points, best 2/3 single elimination.
No weapon restrictions.

Bring your best, and may honor prevail.

StormBlade Tournament (Rapier) :

The Stormblade of Stromgard must prove themselves to be a champion above all else. Martial prowess is the main focus of any combat tournament, however a true champion must be able to represent the Baron and Baroness and their people in more than just the capability with a sword. The Stormblade must be able to display gallantry, chivalry, and a keen tactical awareness above those who would simply wield a blade.

To this end, the stormblade Tournament will be a trial of the body, and the mind.It will consist of four tournament rounds, and three melee scenarios, designed to challenge fighters, as well as present an opportunity to showcase their virtues and dedication to the title.

The scoring for this tournament will be a bit different and more visible than most others. After the lists are taken and the rosters filled, all fighters will be paid an amount of physical coinage equal to the number of fighters present. I.e.: If there are ten fighters in the tournament, all fighters will be given ten coins to start. This is to represent the wealth and largess of the Baron and Baroness, as well as give the fighters currency for the melee scenarios, which will be described in detail below.

The purpose of the coins is for fighters to gain as many as they can, with the fighters with the most money going on to compete in the tournament finals. Note: Should a fighter lose all their coins, that does NOT mean they are eliminated from the tournament or the running, as there will be multiple ways to earn coins through the tournament.

Tournament Round 1 - “Bring-Your-Best Round Robin”

To begin the day, all fighters will be allowed, and encouraged, to equip their favored weapon style, all legal (non ranged) weapons will be allowed for this round. All fighters will face each other in a single round with a best of three passes victory condition. Simultaneous deaths will be re-fought until one clear winner is established.

Scoring - Each fighter will be placing one of their coins on the line for each of their opponents, with the winner taking both coins. You pay a coin each round, not each pass.

Melee Scenario 1 - “Land Grab”

In the first Melee Scenario we are going to be simulating a mercenary invasion of a fictional kingdom. All combatants will be presented with an open field. Upon this field will be arranged a number of small flags. Eah flag will represent a small town or city, and will be marked with a number between 1 and 3. Each fighter will be their own standing army. Once the call is given, fighters are to collect as many flags as they can and return them to their designated starting position. Once all flags are cleared from the field, the scenario will end.

The number on each flag is the amount of coins each one is worth. All fighters who are NOT vying for Stormblade will make up the populace armies attempting to defend the flags from the invaders.

This scenario may end quickly and might be run multiple times, if time allows however ONLY the first round will count for scoring purposes.

Rules of note:

Once a flag is grabbed by someone, please allow them a moment to make sure their gear and gloves are still secure before engaging them in an attempt to steal it. I.e.: Don’t attack someone while they are bending over to get a flag, or cut their hand off as they are exposed and reaching for a flag

War is Hell, but the art of the rapier is still a gentleman's game. Please maintain a high degree of awareness and strike calibration. It is better to lose because you were being kind, than to win by being a jerk or hurting someone. Marshalls and spectators will be encouraged to watch for acts of grace and chivalry and coins will be awarded. Be calculating, but kind!

Death from behind WILL be allowed, however all courtesies must be observed to the highest degree from both ther stabber and the stabbed.

Tournament Round 2 - “Wounded Warrior - Round Robin”

The same scoring and format rules from round 1 apply, however, to reflect the mercenary campaigning of the melee scenario, your main sword arm has been rendered inoperable (maimed, cut off, really tired, etc). All fighters will be reduced to using only their off hand. In the event their off hand is lost, the fight is over, there will be no switching to the main hand. Fighters are encouraged to practice their fundamentals with their off hand, and the art of defense.

Melee Round 2 - “All For One, One For All”

The second melee round will be a grand melee once more with only one objective, be the last man standing. The winner of the melee will be granted ten coins, with second place granted five, and third place granted three.

Before the battle, fighters will be given a five minute window to use their coin in an attempt to hire other fighters who might be looking to hedge their bets by forming an alliance or make a little extra coin by hiring out their services to someone with the money to pay for it.

Regardless of the size of an alliance, only the leader of that unit can be considered the winner and will receive the prize payout. How the payment is divided up after is up to their sole discretion.

Once again this scenario may end quicker than anticipated, and if so, the two wealthiest fighters will be chosen as army commanders who will then pick, or be assigned, their armies, for a skirmish melee, no coins will be won or lost, unless marshals or onlookers deem someone chivalrous or gallant enough to be granted an extra reward.

Once again, the utmost grace and courtesy should be observed at all times.

Tournament Round 3 - “Use What you Got - Round Robin”

Fighters will not always have the weapons they prefer on hand, and a champion must be able to utilize anything and everything at their disposal to win. The same rules format for the previous two rounds apply, however fighters will bring their least used/favorite weapon style.

Melee Round 3 - “Highway Robbery”

In the third and final scenario, fighters will be asked to simulate patrolling the lands of our Barony in search of a group of dashing, but deadly Highwaymen (consisting of the fighters who are NOT vying for the championship). Upon confronting them each fighter will take a turn trying to figure out how best to deal with the bandits. Perhaps they can be dealt with in a series of duels? Perhaps a dashing wit can settle the score? Maybe the fighter has enough coins to hire mercenaries to even the odds? This will be a game of risk vs. reward with no concrete outcome set.

For each Highwayman brought to justice, by deed or by death, fighters will earn a bounty of three coins,

Special rules: The Highwaymen will be encouraged to be creative in how they respond to each combatant. The emphasis of this scenario is on creativity and thinking outside the box and the Highwaymen will be on the lookout and eager to see how each fighter might approach such unfavorable odds.

Tournament 4 - “The Crucible - Double Elimination”

In the fourth and final tournament field, the four (or six, depending on participation) wealthiest fighters will compete in a double elimination tournament for the grand victory. This tournament will allow any weapon configuration, with no coins or scoring of previous rounds.

These will be single pass rounds. Simultaneous kills will be refought one single time per fight, after that a double death is a double loss.

Once all the fights have taken place, all the combatants are satisfied, and one true victor has emerged, the tournament will be concluded.
